Person Jumps Out of Apartment Window to Escape Shooting: Police

A reward is being offered after a person was injured Tuesday morning jumping out of a third-floor window to escape a fatal shooting that left another man dead inside a Dallas apartment building, police say.

At about 2:30 a.m. Dallas police were called to a shooting at the Villas Del Lago apartments on the 2900 block of Clydedale Drive, northwest of Dallas Love Field, police said.

When they arrived, officers found 33-year-old Deroyce Dmor Washington on the ground with multiple cuts to his arms and unable to walk. Police learned Washington injured himself further jumping out of a window to escape the shooting. Washington was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Inside an apartment, Dallas police discovered an unidentified man dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

No arrests have been made and no motive has been revealed in the shooting.
