One driver is dead after crashing into a semitrailer on President George Bush Turnpike in Carrollton early Monday morning, authorities said.
Texas Department of Public Safety's Sgt. Lonny Haschel said the driver lost control and crashed a Mitsubishi Montero into the semi-trialer that was pulling onto the right shoulder of the southbound turnpike because of a jackknifed truck in the roadway at 4:28 a.m.
The driver of the Mitsubishi died at the scene, Haschel said.
No other injuries were reported.
As of 8:30 a.m., the two middle lanes of the roadway were open. Officials have not said when they expect to open the other lanes.
