A person is dead after being shot by police Tuesday evening in The Colony, officials say. [[465329303,R]]
Officers were called at about 6 p.m. to a home on the 5500 block of Rice Drive, where there was a reported burglary in progress.
Police said when they arrived, one person ran from the home and a second pulled out a knife. The officers then fatally shot the suspect.
No officers were hurt in the shooting.
The Texas Rangers are handling the shooting investigation, and no other details were immediately available.
