1 Formerly Conjoined Twin Released from Houston Hospital

One of the formerly conjoined twin girls separated at a Houston hospital in February has been discharged, but her sister is expected to remain there for likely a few more months.

The Houston Chronicle reports that Knatalye Hope Mata was discharged from Texas Children's Hospital on Friday. Hospital officials say her sister, Adeline Faith, may possibly be able to go home in the next few months.

The girls, once joined at the chest, were separated in a long surgery when they were 10 months old.

Their parents, Elysse and John Mata, moved from Lubbock to Houston last year to be near Texas Children's. The couple also has an older boy.

The girls have been at Texas Children's since they were born in April 2014.
