1 Dead, 4 Injured in Tarrant County Head-On Collision

The Tarrant County Sheriff’s office said one person died and four were injured after a head-on collision in far West Tarrant County Monday night.

Officials said deputies responded to an emergency call at 8:03 p.m. and found multiple people that had sustained serious injuries in the 12000 block of White Settlement Road.

Investigators said 38-year-old Shane Knapp, of Fort Worth, was driving east in a 1967 Ford Mustang with his 16-year-old daughter Shana and 17-year-old Bailey Goss. Karla Gabriela Blanco, 40, was driving west in a 2014 Toyota van with 41-year-old passenger passenger Oscar A. Blanco-Marquez, investigators said.

The cause of the crash has not yet been released.

Officials said Shane Knapp was taken by helicopter to John Peter Smith hospital and Shana was taken to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth. Examiners pronounced Goss dead at the scene. Blanco and Blanco-Marquez were taken to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth for non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators said evidence of alcohol was reported during the treatment of Shane Knapp, so they obtained a warrant for a blood sample.

Sheriff's officials said they would release the results of the investigation when completed.
