Dallas police say two people have been killed and at least one other was hurt in a crash involving a passenger van and tractor-trailer Sunday morning.

The crash left a white passenger van split in half in the eastbound lanes on Interstate 20 between Lancaster Road and Bonnie View Road.

Of the five people inside the van, one person was killed at the scene and four others were taken to local hospitals -- two in critical condition.

One of the two listed in critical condition later died of his or her injuries.

One of the deceased has been identified as Simon Vazquez. The Dallas County medical examiner has not yet released the identity of the second victim.

The driver of the tractor-trailer involved in the crash was not hurt.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
