What's in Your Olive Oil?

Why it Might Even Prevent Breast Cancer

Experts have known that Mediterranean diets rich in olive oil are good for your heart. And a new study reports that it could fight breast cancer, too.

Spanish researchers examined the properties of extra virgin olive oil - the purest form of olive oil.

Two properties in the oil suppressed the breast cancer gene HER2. And these properties also reduced malignant tumors in rats.

But those properties will have to be transformed into drugs. Simply consuming a lot of olive oil won't do the trick.
