Water customers throughout Fort Worth and the communities its serves may notice a change in the taste of their water for the next two months.
This is the time of year the Fort Worth Water Department and Tarrant Regional Water District take portions of pipelines and plants out of service to perform maintenance.
Because of the maintenance activity, water source blends are altered and water is moved all over the city from varies treatment plants.
Some water supply sources will have a different taste and odor because of algae in the lakes that are killed by low temperatures.
Residents who are sensitive to water changes may detect a difference in the taste and smell of their water.
There is no water quality issue associated with these changes.
