IKEA is recalling about 670,000 sets of Roman blinds sold in the United States, after the strangulation of a 1-year-old Connecticut girl, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced today.
The blinds have been sold under the Iris and Alvine brands exclusively at IKEA stores across the country, including the Frisco store.
Additionally, about 4.8 million sets were sold outside the United States.
The Connecticut girl died on April 4 when she became entangled in the inner cord of the blinds. She had been in a portable playpen underneath the blinds.
Customers who've purchased the blinds -- which come in various sizes -- may return them to any IKEA store for a full refund.
The blinds have a sewn-in label with a five-digit supplier number, either 19799 or 21369, and were made in India.
