Downsize Your Disinfectants

Don't wash your money down the drain.

Many North Texans are spending big money for fancy sprays, cleaners and detergents, but the experts say don't waste your money.

"Really, all you need are just two or three cleansers to clean your whole house," said Don Dillon, the owner of Molly Maid of Park Cities.

Dillon recommends an all-purpose cleaner like 409 for most jobs.

For stainless steel he says use dish washing detergent.

On hardwood floors use water and in the bathroom, skip the toilet bowl cleaner. Dillon tells homeowners can of Comet with bleach for about a buck.
