Dallas County Offers Free HIV Testing

Wednesday is World AIDS Day and the Dallas County Health Department is offering free HIV testing with same day results for all residents.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show more than 14,000 people in Dallas County are living with the infection.

"The biggest issue we are facing is the stigma associated with testing and the diagnosis. It's not a death sentence," said Zachary Thompson, with Dallas County Health and Human Services.

Free HIV testing is available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Early Intervention Clinic on North Stemmons Freeway.

Testing will also be done at the Mobile Medical Clinic at the Big T Bazaar in Dallas from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
