Aspirin a Day Not for Diabetics

Many people take small doses of aspirin every day to try and prevent heart disease.  But it may not provide the same benefit for people with type-two diabetes.

A study of 25-hundred diabetic patients in Japan showed almost no reduction in heart disease for patients who took low dose aspirin, although there was a very minor trend toward some improvement among people who were 65 or older. No reason was given why low dose aspirin would not work the same way it does in non-diabetic patients, but the researchers say better studies are needed to discover more about the aspirin-diabetic connection
