It's Never too Early to Think About Hitting the Water

Summer is still months away, but it's not too early to start thinking about spending some time on the water and how to do it.

The 54th annual Fort Worth Boat Show is under way at the convention center in downtown Fort Worth.

Visitors can check out the latest speed boats, personal water crafts and pontoon boats and even find several different kinds of campers.

Outdoor enthusiasts can pick up a kayak built for one or two, from Glen Rose-based  Rhino Ridge Outfitters  and Paluxy Outfitters. Those not ready to make that type of investment can book a river tour instead.

"If you don't know if you want to buy a boat yet, if you don't want to invest that kind of money, you can go on a $50 tour for two or three hours and take the boat out and try it before making a bigger investment, " said Adam Eyres, of Rhino Ridge.

The boat show runs through Sunday. Click here for times and location.
