Spirit Adding Flights to San Diego, Detroit and Mexico City from DFW

Introductory sales good through Wednesday

Spirit Airlines is adding more flights out of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport ... and that means more $28 introductory fares.

Beginning June 21, Spirit will begin service to Toluca/Mexico City, Detroit and San Diego out of DFW.

Travelers can get to U.S. destinations for $28.79 each way while travel to Mexico City will be $64.73 each way.

The fares are not good forever and are only available Tuesday and Wednesday.

Spirit is relatively new to DFW and just started service from the airport on May 5, 2011 with non-stop service to Fort Lauderdale and Las Vegas.  Since then they've added flights to Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, New York LaGuardia, Orlando and Phoenix/Mesa. On May 3, they'll add Denver and three weekly flights to Myrtle Beach. On May 4, they'll begin four weekly flights to Tampa.

"Spirit Airlines is clearly gaining a lot of traction in the Dallas/Fort Worth market, with new flights to San Diego, Detroit and Toluca, Mexico," said Jeff Fegan, CEO of DFW International Airport.  "We are very encouraged by Spirit's growth and their entry into Mexico, which means more great travel options for our passengers."
