NBA Star Takes Young Dallas Business to New Level

An NBA star is helping three young entrepreneurs take their Dallas T-shirt business to a whole other level.

It all started with an idea from Golden State Warriors' Draymond Green and a t-shirt design. But that's not what the group of young men are excited about.

It's more about the mission of their brand that's now getting attention.

"Whatever is going on in the world, we kind of want it to be an outlet for it," said Rufus Williams, who founded the business.

A design on a shirt turned into a message of empowerment.

"We try to come up with those messages and send them out, and hopefully people are receptive to them," said Williams.

Williams, one of the founders of "Humble Flourish Brand," moved to Dallas from Memphis, Tennessee, with a dream of becoming an entrepreneur while delivering a positive message to his community.

"I think the entrepreneurial spirit here is very alive and well," said Williams. "People are just so willing and open to help you too here."

Williams, along with his business partners, Eric Grayson and Chris Mahone, said they stepped out on faith to pursue a dream.

"The sky is the limit, let's go," said Grayson.

"I mean, I was responsible for the idea," said Draymond Green during a TV interview in Oakland, California.

But Williams said the design was their idea. Their brand was recently recognized across the country when they made a shirt at the request of Draymond Green.

"Definitely pushed us to another level," said Williams.

Draymond wore the "Quickie" T-shirt during network television interviews and during the team's victory parade in Oakland. The idea: A spin on the win inside the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland against the Cavaliers.

"It gave us a tremendous platform," said Chris Mahone.

And an opportunity, Chris said, to showcase their true brand.

"A word can go a long way. A powerful message can go a long way, it can empower so many people and you not even know it," said Mahone.

Without having to say a single word.

And If you're wondering how they were able to work out a shirt deal with the NBA star, we're told one of their college's friends is Draymond Green's business manager.

Draymond was looking for a clever shirt design after the NBA Championship.
