Have You Invented The Next Big Thing?

Have a great product you've created?  Well, you have until March 28 to enter it into the Dallas Market Center's nationwide contest called, "The Next Big Thing."

For the winners of the 2010 contest, "The Next Big Thing" has catapulted the success of their product.

"Its been great getting our name out there," said Myra Prescott, co-creator of Clothes and Go.

Almost a year has gone by since business partners, Julie Tobolowsky and Myra Prescott won the contest of a lifetime.

"Its just been a great beginning to our product, Clothes and Go," said Tobolowsky.

Since their big win, which included a prize package of more than $15,000 and an opportunity to show Clothes and Go at a Dallas Market Center trade show in January, Tobolowsky and Prescott's product has really taken off.

"We actually have product in England and Australia," said Prescott.  "We're talking to people in Mexico and Germany and France."

With a few packaging improvements and design changes, Clothes and Go is now in more than 50 stores nationwide, including Sam Moon and Preston Road Pharmacy in North Texas.  Nothing was as exciting for the women as seeing Clothes and Go in a store with their own eyes.

"I was really excited," said Prescott.  "We were like kids in a candy store.  We stood there and took pictures of ourselves standing next to the product.  We couldn't help it."

The plan is to capitalize off the momentum of their win last year.

"We need to kind of expand," said Tobolowsky.  "And we have a couple of products that we're designing and yeah, we're in the design phase of two other items."

Their goal is to prove once and for all that Clothes and Go really is the next big thing.

"Stay tuned," said Tobolowsky.

Entries are due by Monday, March 28.  This year's winner of the Next Big Thing will receive a prize package worth more than $10,000, including a $2500 cash prize, exhibit space at the Dallas Home & Gift Market in January 2012, a profile in one of Dallas Market Center's publications, and consultation from public relations, branding and visual merchandising experts.
