Google Nipping at Microsoft's Heels

It appears the tech rumor mill was right when it predicted that Google's Android operating system would be running on Windows machines.

According to Bloomberg.com, Acer Inc. and Asustek Computer Inc. will both introduce laptops next quarter that will run on Google's free Android OS.

Google introduced Android on the smartphone T-Mobile G1, but the free, open source operating system was designed to support many types of devices.

The info comes on the heels of Microsoft's answer to the Google-dominanted search engine world -- Bing.
