Family-Owned Freed's Furniture, Where ‘You Can Afford Your Dreams,' is Closing After 80 Years

Family-owned and operated Freed's Furniture is going out of business after selling furniture, mattresses and rugs to Dallas area households for 80 years.

"After four generations of serving northern Texas, we have one final thing to say ... Thank you for your friendship and loyal patronage," said a flier from owners Howard and Debbie Freed that was sent this week to preferred customers. The Freeds couldn't be reached for comment.

The Dallas location on LBJ Freeway and the Plano store on W. 15th Street are holding going out of business sales. Freed's store in Arlington on S. Cooper Street closed earlier this year.
