A business at the Dallas Farmers Market is wondering about its future at the market, whose new ownership has big plans for redevelopment.
"Our biggest concern right now is the transition period from where it is now to what their final vision will be," said Justin Fourton, Pecan Lodge owner.
Developers say the overall goal is to spend more than $60 million redeveloping the space around the Dallas Farmers Market to include retail and residential space.
Pecan Lodge's award-winning barbeque is prepared and dished as quickly as possible to cater to the long lines of hungry customers who usually wait more than an hour for it.
Currently, Fourton is in talks with the new owners about the future of his business, including expanding space to reduce his customers' wait time.
"We really need to just try to work out something not to disrupt their current business operations or come up with to keep them up here at the market," said Blair Black, Dallas Farmers Market director of operations.
