Bell Helicopter Moves Jobs from FW to Amarillo

Bell Helicopter is moving about 100 jobs from Fort Worth to its military aircraft plant in Amarillo.

Supervisors notified employees on Friday that their positions will be shifted and they will have to reapply for a position, even if they are willing to move.

The workers who are affected are buyers of parts and materials for military aircraft such as the V-22 Osprey and H-1 model helicopters, produced in Amarillo.

Robert Hastings, senior vice president of communications, said the job shifts are designed to reduce costs and increase efficiency. The shifts are expected by year's end.
