Lock Down Lifted at Seagoville Middle School

Rumor of gun on campus prompts lock down, search

The lock down at Seagoville Middle School in Dallas has been lifted.

The school, which is in the Dallas Independent School District, was placed on lock down after the school received a report of a student possibly having a gun on campus.

After a search of the school, no gun was found and the lock down was lifted at about 10:45 a.m.

"All we have at this point is an unconfirmed rumor.  We have taken the necessary precautions, have searched the school and have not found any evidence whatsoever of a weapon," said Jon Dahlander, with the DISD, while the search was under way.

The school is located at 950 Woody Road in Dallas.
