Man Shot, Killed During Foot Chase with Duncanville Police

Duncanville police say a 28-year-old man died after being fatally shot by officers during a foot chase Monday morning.

At 8:26 a.m., Duncanville officers responded to a call of a major disturbance in the 400 block of Kelly Court. Police did not detail what the disturbance was.

Police reports state that during a foot chase between two Duncanville police officers and Clinton Peterson, shots were fired and Peterson was killed.

"I'm not aware of how many shots were fired or who shot," said Officer Doug Sisk with Duncanville Police. "Shots were fired, that's all I know."

Officers interviewed neighbors like Lorrie Garcia who described that her daughter heard as she prepared for school.

"It was about 8:30 that she heard some screaming," said Garcia. "She heard a woman screaming and hollering, 'no, no, don't do it,  I love you!' and then she heard I guess gun shots."

The Dallas County Sheriff's Department spent Monday taking witness statements and gathering evidence as they investigated the officer-involved shooting.
