Obama to Arrive at Inauguration by Train

WASHINGTON — President-elect Barack Obama will retrace the journey of his political idol, Abraham Lincoln, by taking a train to his inauguration.

Obama and his family will start their daylong journey on Jan. 17 with an event in Philadelphia. Then they'll board the train and pick up Vice President-elect Joe Biden and his family in Wilmington, Del., about 30 miles south.

The group will make another stop in Baltimore before arriving in Washington.

Lincoln also rode to his swearing-in on a train from Philadelphia, making stops along the way.

Obama will take office Jan. 20.
