- She's been nearly banished from the red carpet, but Joan Rivers isn't banished from the Meyerson Symphony Center on Monday the 13th. Tickets run $24-$80, but you'll hear more than just the elder Rivers flow, as the Turtle Creek Chorale (who are FAB-U-LOUS) will be singing as well.
- Akroyd and (Jim)Belushi. Blues Brothers. Tuesday. 8 p.m. H.O.B. Go.
- Like Blue Mesa? Celebrate their 20th Anniversary at all of their locations during a 5 p.m. party with all sorts of goodies...all for free. We're salivating already.
- The Hotel Cafe Tour returns to Dallas' H.O.B. with Ingrid Michaelson, Meiko, Brooke Fraser and more. We've interviewed each singer/songwriter in the past, and can definitely recommend you attending the Thursday, Oct. 16th, 8 p.m. show.
- Back to H.O.B. for Friday's 9 p.m. Ting Tings show. Why Ting Tings? Click for reason.
- It's the second date of the Main Street Live Festival. Free before 5 p.m. at the corner of Main and Akard. What could be better than that? Oh, Record Hop is there? It's better already.
- I have big love for Phantom Planet, but their show Saturday (at H.O.B...again) have just too many three-word-band-names-starting-with-"the" (The Rocket Summer, The Secret Handshake, and The Morning Light) to set me on fire. Actually, don't set me on fire. If you'd like a MTV-style rock show, it starts at 7 p.m.
- A slew of locals play Poor David's Pub on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. for Hurricane Ike Relief. Head to the free show and donate.
- Bobby Brown is playing FireWater at 5 p.m. Sunday the 19th. You could buy $20 tickets by clicking here but it's your perogative.
