This year's event was the fourth annual Greyhound Adoption League of Texas (GALT) benefit at The Mercury. Over 60 guests enjoyed a cooking demonstration, cocktails, plenty of food and a silent auction to benefit the organization.

GALT was founded in 2001 by John and Susie McQuade. At the event, we were surprised to learn that gray is actually the least common color among dogs of this breed.

The Mercury's private party room includes a demonstration kitchen and a full-sized bar. We've made a note for our next special occasion.

Chef Ward has a Basset Hound himself, but he's a big supporter of GALT. The group currently fosters over 60 greyhounds.

Items at the silent auction included works of art, jewelry and photography packages. Needless to say, many involved a greyhound motif!
