“We keep the rub simple -- no sugar -- because we want the slow cooked, smoky flavor of the meat to shine,” said Hutchins BBQ owner, Tim Hutchins.

The service at Hutchins BBQ is no frills. Customers line up as soon as they enter and are handed their plates to slide on a cafeteria-style tray.

Brisket, ribs, chicken, pulled pork and sausage drenched in sweet, tangy barbeque sauce are the meaty entrees of choice, but medium-sized pieces of catfish fried in cornmeal breading is also offered. The southern-style fried fish is served with fried tubular pieces of golden fried hush puppy goodness.

The free dessert bar with peach cobbler and banana pudding is another sweet touch anyone watching their wallets will appreciate.
