7/28: Village Eats, Swingin' Shindig, Big Name Little

Snack in the West Village, party with elephants, and see Dave Little with Section 8

VILLAGE EATS: If you normally steer clear of the boutiqueland off 75 in Uptown to avoid the temptation of $2,750 cowboy boots covered in flames and half-naked chicks, some deals from West Village restaurants will keep you distracted enough to abstain. For just a buck, you can sample food and wine from Lazare, Taco Diner, Cork Wines, Paciugo Gelato, and other yummy spots. Five dollars gets you into a drawing for free dinner. Best part is, all proceeds go to the North Texas Food Bank.  Members of the Josh Goode Band and others provide the jams. 6-9PM.

SWINGIN' SHINDIG: The circus rolls into town today and Barnum & Bailey is announcing its magical presence by throwing an Elephantine Block Party. It's not just a really enormous party; elephants from the show will actually be there, munching on salad prepared according to instructions on the rider. The event is free and kids of all ages are invited, but be warned: the clowns are still on tonight. American Airlines Center, 7PM.

BIG NAME LITTLE: One of Dallas' favorite comedians about town, Dave Little, performs with Section 8 every Tuesday at Ozona Grill and Bar on Greenville Ave. We direct you to bottom of this post for some footage of Little playing a song about the liquor store, obviously something he knows very little about, at a Section 8 show last year.
