What You're Doing Tonight: March 11, 2009

Dallas Opera "The Italian Girl in Algiers" - Fair Park Music Hall - 7:30 p.m.
It's the second to last performance for the Dallas Opera in Fair Park Music Hall before they move to the new Dallas Center for the Performing Arts building currently under construction. This show is a great way to go out, too; a light, silly comedy filled with great music is just what you need for a deary, rainy day, right?

Fatty Lumpkin/Rebirth Brass Band/Snarky Puppy - Granada Theater - 8 p.m.
Some would recommend the show for Snarky Puppy, others for Rebirth Brass Band -- we recommend Fatty Lumpkin for the perfect way to kick out the Hump Day funk. A jazz-funk-rock-reggae jam band that ranges from Phish-like epics to tight Funkadelic solos, Fatty is the band to listen to closest.

T.I. - NOKIA Theater - 8 p.m.
Time is running out on T.I. He's headed for the slammer in less than a month, so this is possibly the only time you're going to get to see this "Jay Z of the South" before the end of the decade. We doubt he'll be just sitting in a jail cell during his incarceration; he'll have enough material to fill a Jay Z style Vol. 1-4 album.
