TECH Fort Worth is a nonprofit business incubator. The purpose of this organization is to “assist startup companies to create feasible business plans, to develop effective marketing strategies, to build strong management teams and to launch them successfully into the Fort Worth economy.”
TECH Fort Worth is a public-private partnership of the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth, The City of Fort Worth, and the Fort Worth business community.
TECH Fort Worth is designed to identify technologies with high potential for success in the marketplace. In other words, find that “diamond in the rough.”
From there, TECH Fort Worth works closely with excited entrepreneurs to mentor, coach and push them toward success.
Most of the Fort Worth companies assisted by TECH Fort Worth are those which focus on proprietary technology.
The programs of TECH Fort Worth include:
- The Incubation Program
The Incubation Program is an extensive, hands-on workshop with multiple sessions where TECH Fort Worth works with the entrepreneurs and their business plans.
TECH Fort Worth, through its Incubation Program, allows the start-up to produce a detailed business model and accurately access the feasibility of their business endeavor.
Other issues covered in the Incubation Program include providing assistance structuring seed money from savings, family or friends, and applying for grants from the federal government.
- The Acceleration Program
The Acceleration Program is a structured program which allows the entrepreneurs to achieve the strategies, the team, the funds and the infrastructure needed to greatly increase the company’s chances of success.
Through the Acceleration Program, companies are offer subsidized space with shared services within one of TECH Fort Worth’s facilities.
- The Launch Program
The TECH Fort Worth Launch Program is designed to assist the entrepreneurs as they transition from the Acceleration Program to a self-sustaining company in the Fort Worth business community.
This program usually begins when the client reaches a significant milestone, such as a positive cash flow, substantial revenues, significant investment or job creation.
- The Alumni Program
The alumni of TECH Fort Worth continue to receive regular reviews and are given membership in a dedicated CEO Peer Group to share experiences as CEOs of technology-based companies.
- The Entrepreneurial Intern Scholars Program
The Entrepreneurial Intern Scholars Program is a partnership between the Neeley Entrepreneurship Center and TECH Fort Worth in which undergraduate students are matched with startup companies housed in the incubator
- The TCU Tech Fort Worth Incubator
Student-run businesses can launch or grow their business in the TCU Tech Fort Worth Incubator. The incubator staff provides a wide range of specialized business services including business plan development, on-site business education opportunities and office space and equipment.
