Two Local Designers Make ProRo Season 6

See Lifetime's Complete Histories of Louise Black and Shirin Askari

Good news: Project Runway is back August 20! Better news: We have not just one, but two hometown designers to cheer for/love to hate/buy souvenirs from now who are among the 16 designers at the machines on the first episode. Unfair Park plugged the names of two contestants from DFW who we'll watch compete on the show's long-awaited sixth season. (ProRun found a new home at Lifetime and switched from its New York filming location to one in L.A. Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum still host, though.)

If Louise Black of Dallas or Shirin Askari, who claimed Richardson as her home when the show was being produced, made it to the final three contenders, they had to hide in the wings while their collections went down the runway at Fashion Week in February when the show's future was uncertain.

Black's high-dollar Etsy shop is pretty much cleaned out -- have a look at a few of her Victorian goth-punk pieces (yes, that's a Charlotte doll hanging from that necklace.) The photos of Aksari's work in her online portfolio suggest she'll be a pet of Tim Gunn's and a frustration for the other judges with her mature, streamlined dresses and halter tops.
