Two for One Theatre, Plus…

The Level Ground Arts is offering discounted rates for the opening weekend of Manos: Hands of Fate, a comedic stage rendition of the 1966 horror film famous for its “bad acting, direction, editing, and everything else!” This weekend only, receive two tickets for the price of one. A double feature special is also available for their Santa VS. Martians show. KD Studio Theatre, $20 adults, begins Friday at 10:15 p.m.

The UT Dallas Visual Arts Building will be filled to the brim this weekend and next with student dance, vocal, theatre, and musical performances. An art exhibition showcasing the work of more than 700 students will also be on display. The opening reception is Friday. Design District darling PDNB Gallery will be hosting an artist’s reception and book signing for Chris Verene’s FAMILY. The book captures raw moments in the artist’s family and friends’ lives -- from his cousin’s wedding at the Sirloin Stockade to losing his house to a tornado-- in his hometown of Galesburg, Illinois. Free, Friday from 6-8 p.m.
