Two Days of Royal Wedding Bliss In Dallas

Tea, dinner with ‘the Queen’ & breakfast in bed with Wills and Kate

Dallas author Nancy Smith Becker will sign copies of her book “Imperial Wedding of Old Paris,” this Thursday, April 28 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hotel St Germain.

Guests can drink tea and enjoy a sample of Royal Wedding Cakes, both past and present, made with historic recipes as Becker talks about what many consider one of the most romantic  weddings in all of 19th century Paris. Cost is $30 per person.

Guest of the boutique hotel who have a hunger for all things royal wedding, may enjoy a
four-course gourmet dinner paired with wine and Louis Roederer Brut Premier NV while viewing “The Queen”.

Chef Chad Martin’s adaptation of the actual 1953 Royal Coronation menu will include filet de boeuf mascotte and chocolate roulade, strawberry galette. Dinner starts at 7 p.m. and the cost is $85 per person.

For hard core fans who want to wake up and watch Wills and Kate tie the knot while eating breakfast in bed, a stay in a suite will cost $290-$650. A full English breakfast will be served as they tune into to televised Royal Wedding coverage. Pass the black pudding and baked beans, please.

Royal Wedding festivities at the Hotel St Germain will end with a wedding supper and screening of the Academy Award-winning movie, “The Kings Speech”.

It’s a formal six-course menu paired with wine and Bollinger Champagne. Dishes will include such English favorites as: Beef Wellington, roasted quail and Stilton with poached pears and walnuts. Representative of Historic Royal Palaces, Mr. David Huntley will comment. Cost is $150 per person and dinner starts at 7 p.m.
