Yesterday, yumsugar reported that our hometown hero Tim Love (Lonesome Dove, Love Shack) has some beef with journalists. When asked for his thoughts on the "veggies are the new meat" trend, he responded: "I don't understand movements. The media makes them up," he said. "People have always eaten vegetables. I've always had a tomato garden; everyone in Texas has tomato plants. There's nothing new there." He also divulged that he will star in a new Food Network competition series dubbed Best in Smoke set to premiere next May. Not to just make things up here, but could his veggie trend hatred have anything do to with the fact that he owns meat-centric restos and will soon appear on a show that revolves around smoking meat?
