Car enthusiasts packed Dallas Market Hall this weekend for the O'Reilly Auto Parts AutoRama.
About 40,000 people came out to see the hottest souped-up autos at the event's 51st Dallas show.
The rides included the Million Dollar Gold Digger, named by car owner Tammy Ray, who owns a gold mine in Georgia and is the only woman to win the Ridler Award.
"The women are not really into car shows," she said. "You see a lot of the guys and everything that are at the shows, they are cleaning the cars and everything, but they need to get the women involved because they know how to make it look right ."
Ray also takes her business home. She placed pieces of real gold inside her vehicle and has 24 -carat gold decoration on her cap covers.
But that wasn't the only eye-catching hot rod.
A Bonneville racer at the show that was built from scratch can go 422 mph.
Other custom vehicles included a bubble-top hot rod and a stretched-out station wagon with eight doors.
Organizers say the AutoRama show will be back next year for those who didn't get a chance to see all the hot rides.
