The Sharks and the Jets. Capulets and Montagues. Hatfields and McCoys. Dallas Girl Scouts and Fort Worth Girl Scouts?
While there might not be a blood feud between the two Girl Scout councils in the area, there is a cookie conundrum -- both councils are offering a new flavor of Girl Scout cookie, but it's not the same one.
Dallas area Girl Scouts belong to the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas council and are offering a new Dulce de Leche cookie to areas like Denton, Dallas, and Tyler.
Fort Worth area Girl Scouts belong to the Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains and are offering a new Daisy Go Round cookie to areas like Fort Worth, Arlington, and North Richland Hills.
The division is based mainly on each councils' choice of bakery. There are three Girl Scout approved bakeries to get their cookies from.
Many of the classics are made by all the bakeries including Thin Mints and Shortbreads, but others have slight differences.
Fort Worth area Scouts offer Caramel deLites, which Dallas area Scouts call Samoas.
