It's time again for the music, movies and parties of the fourth annual Lone Star International Film Festival, kicking off this Wednesday in Sundance Square.
This year has one heck of a lineup as celebrities and filmmakers from all across the country flock to downtown Fort Worth. This year’s festival features over 68 shorts and feature films, including critically acclaimed films from the past cinematic year such as Another Year, Miss Nobody, Monogamy and One Hundred Mornings.
Director Peter Bogdanovich and honoree Jeff Bridges will be screening some of their favorite films from their careers. Bogdanovich will be screening his most critically acclaimed film The Last Picture Show on Saturday. Bridges' picks include the cult classic The Big Lebowski, the previously mentioned Picture Show, and his latest performance in Crazy Heart, for which he won an Oscar for Best Actor. In addition, Bridges will take the stage with Fort Worth's own T Bone Burnett for a performance of songs from the film.
Aside from the movies, there are an ample amount of activities planned for the festival, including concerts at 8.0 in Sundance Square on Wednesday and Saturday night, the LSIFF Gala on Friday, and a performance by Lyle Lovett at Bass Hall on Sunday.
The Lone Star Film Society presents the Lone Star International Film Festival. The festival is focused on being truly international and is committed to showcasing emerging talent in the industry.
