Spring Trends: Haute Hats

Are you feeling inspired by the Spring hats seen on the runways of Hermes, Marc Jacobs, and Vena Cava? Dallas' chic set also rocks glamourous hats this time of year, like those spotted this past weekend at the Equest benefit,  "A Night At The Royal Ascot."

If you've been admiring the cool fedoras your friends are sporting at long lunches on your favorite patio, or if you're planning to attend Dallas' most hat-centric event, the Mad Hatter's Tea (happening next month) we'll tell you where to find the perfect topper.

Major trends in Spring hats included floppy, Seventies-inspired styles (think Jane Birkin) and sweet hair accessories ranging from girly fedoras to headbands and wraps. Given that the most important apparel trends for Spring -- like the boyfriend look or wider-leg pant suits -- get an extra dose of sex-appeal with the addition of a hat, it's no surprise the head wear is in demand.

In Dallas, a great piece is easy to find thanks to amazing local milliners like Cassie MacGregor and Ginger Strand. Not to mention that larger retailers from JCPenney to Neiman Marcus carry excellent hat selections as well.

Our favorites on racks now? We love the asymmetrical cloche from Ginger Strand's eco-friendly label Millinerium, the feminine floral-print fedora at Forever 21, a stunning graffitied sun hat from Dallas' House of MacGregor, and the oversized casual hats from Free People.
