Six Flags Over Texas is training the spotlight on local talent this summer.
The "Live and Local" concert series showcases a wide variety of new musical talent -- all local to Texas.
This weekend, 15 year-old William Michael Morgan performed a mix of original and popular country music tunes. Other recent performers include Tim Urban, First Class Fever and Brittnee Belt.
Bands or artists wishing to showcase at the park play for free but do receive significant exposure in the park -- including having their Web site listed on Six Flags' Web site, having their music played throughout the park the day of their performance and the ability to sell music and merchandise at the venue.
Interested performers must submit a demo CD of their material to be reviewed. All music must be family-friendly in terms of lyrics and subject matter.
The concerts are free with park admission.
