Six Flags Over Texas is bidding farewell to two of its storied attractions.
The Texas Chute Out and Flashback roller coaster are in their final hours. Both rides are making way for the Texas Skyscreamer, which Six Flags said would be the world's tallest swing ride.
"It's going to be at 400 feet above ground, and guests will be able to enjoy that with their loved ones and make new memories," Six Flags spokeswoman Sharon Parker said.
Rick Garcia and his daughters, Sara and McKenzie, drive on Interstate 30 past the two attractions ever day.
"We're going to ride for the last time -- actually her first time," Rick Garcia said. "We're looking forward to it."
Labor Day is the last day to ride the Texas Chute Out and the Flashback.
"What we wanted to do is [make sure] that our guests had plenty of time to get their final rides in and share their special stories about the rides before they're gone," Parker said.
Opening in 1976, the Texas Chute Out was the first of its kind at any Six Flags park. The more than 200-foot tower provides a panoramic view of the Metroplex.
The 23-year old "Flashback" boomerang roller coaster takes riders through six upside-down twists.
Six Flags over Texas is open Labor Day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
