Romo Practices, Rolando McClain Held Out

Tony Romo (back) participated in practice for the second straight day on Friday

Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett was encouraged by Tony Romo’s performance in practice on Friday, the second consecutive day of practice for Romo after the Dallas signal caller missed a week with a pair of small fractures in his back.

He looked pretty comfortable to me,” Garrett said, per the Dallas Morning News. “Clearly he’s coming back off of this thing. He wants to get the blood going through his body and getting his movement back both in the pocket and also throwing the football. I feel like he had a pretty good day [Thursday].”

Meanwhile, things aren’t looking up for linebacker Rolando McClain.

McClain, who is dealing with a right knee issue, was held out of practice on Friday, their last session at Allianz Park. They’ll have a walkthrough at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, the site of their Sunday matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Rookie Anthony Hitchens will start in place of McClain if he can’t go.
