Ride Your Bike To Work

Get a workout on the way to work

Dozens of riders converged at The T's Intermodal Transportation Center Friday morning as part of National Take Your Bike to Work Day.

It's the second time the city has participated in the event. The city's goal is not only to promote bike riding, but to show that Fort Worth is a bike friendly city.

"The city is working really hard to increase the number of bike routes and bike lanes. And we just put bike racks on all the buses," said The T president Dick Ruddell.

"Literally, if you get tired and can't bicycle the entire route, get to the nearest bus stop, put your bike on the bus and we'll take you home," said Ruddell.

As a result of last year's event, more than 3,800 pounds of CO2 emmissions were reduced.
