Jared Pearce is your average 30s-something guy -- almost. Like many people who volunteer their time in Dallas, Jared has realized the impact of even the smallest efforts, especially for smaller charities.

When he started volunteering at Founders Cottage, he looked for small ways to contribute. The Oak Cliff hospice always has something for people to do around the house, be it cooking a meal for the residents, giving a room a fresh coat of paint, or planting flowers in the garden.

Four years ago, while volunteering at Founders Cottage, Jared realized a much bigger way to give back. Using the power of social media, and networking with his friends, he organized the first annual Red Party, a fundraising event to raise money for Legacy Counseling Center and Founders Cottage.

The overwhelming success of the annual parties led Jared to co-founding Red Party Foundation, which supports the operational efforts of the now massive parties. To date, Red Party has raised over $25,000.

This year’s party will be hosted at the Fashion Industry Gallery on Sept. 14, kicking off Pride weekend for the Dallas LGBT community.

“Red Party is different from most any other local fundraiser in that it attracts a myriad of members from the LGBT community and its supporters,” said Jared Pearce, Board President and Co-Founder of Red Party Foundation. “From younger to older, you find a diverse crowd at the Red Party, who all come to what we consider a ‘red carpet, yet casual’ affair.”

Headlining the event will be Alexis Jordan who originally rose to prominence through her appearance on the first season of “America’s Got Talent” and then gained fame after being picked up by Stargate and world-famous rapper Jay-Z. Additionally, DJ Corey Craig will be spinning the event.
