The Texas Rangers announced Wednesday that the club has placed right-handed pitcher Kameron Loe on irrevocable waivers for the purpose of giving him his unconditional release.
Loe is expected to sign with the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks of the Japanese Pacific League.
The club designated Loe for assignment on Thursday in anticipation of selling his rights to a team in Japan.
The 27-year-old went 1-0 with a 3.23 ERA (11 ER/30.2 IP) in 14 relief appearances over 5 different stints with the Rangers in 2008.
Overall in his major league career, Loe has gone 19-23 with a 4.77 ERA in 107 games/47 starts for the Rangers
