Quick's Big Thing Buzzes On Tonight

Dallas duo Smile Smile bows out of Deathmatch to tour with Metric

Quick's Big Thing storms the Granada with quirky awards show season fun today, though the much-awaited Duo Deathmatch has lost a contender.

Hunter Hauk broke the news via a letter from Smile Smile's Jencey saying that the pair was jetting off to tour with Metric, which is a, well, bigger thing for Smile Smile, who could get their break touring with slick-voiced Emily Haines and company. Metric's shows this week in Seattle, Portland, and San Diego are clean sold out.

The O's and RTB2 will still square off in an onstage battle, but we're pretty sure Smile Smile are the ultimate winners. We've included the band's "Sad Song" video along with Metric's stellar "Gimme Sympathy" video at the bottom of this post to pay homage. Notice the journey/curtain call theme.

Get your $5 tickets here for the show tonight, which boasts sets by the Grammy-winners of Play-N-Skillz , Dove Hunter, Damaged Good$ and DJ Sober. Review a list of the nominees you're rooting for here. It's even fatter per category than the Dallas Observer Music Awards nominee list released this week.
