Men's fashion is often overshadowed by its female counterpart, but the upcoming local event, One Man Dallas, is doing its part to highlight the most stylish men in the Metroplex.
The philanthropic initiative has chosen 20 of the city's best-dressed boys to compete for a chance to give major financial support to their selected charity.
Voting is open online now, but hurry, because May 16 will be the last day to cast your ballot before the winner is announced at the One Man event on May 19.
Candidates for the competition were chosen for their personality, charitable work, and general adorability, but since we love a man with great style, we're taking a look men's Spring trends and making our predictions as to who will snag our vote based on his fashion sense.
The major runway themes for men this season include neutral suits in cool fabrics like poplins and polished cottons, preppy chic tees and button downs in stripes and plaids, and vintage-inspired footwear. And we love the blazers and jeans in mossy, safari-esque greens and well-weathered red shades from designers like Corneliani and Canali. The casual yet collected vibe of many of the men's Spring collections appealed to us as well.
So, who do we think will be the most stylish frontrunners from among the One Man nominees? Topping our list are Karl Chiao and Christopher Trowbridge.
Chiao's style is always polished, and we applaud the way he mixes modern pieces like wide plaids with the traditional suits he wears when on the job at Heritage Auction Galleries. His standing as one of the potential style leaders in the competition is also bolstered by the fact that he chose Pierce Brosnan as the man whose taste he most admires, as we have a personal weakness for all things Brosnan-related.
Trowbridge is already on-trend this season with his affinity for the clean, neutral suit paired with crisp basics, and we expect he'll chose an equally cool-but-casual look for the May event.
Lastly, our wildcard choice for the man likely to show some style during One Man is Jason Friedman. His dressed-up, fashion-forward aesthetic, and his nod to both Donald Trump and Atticus Finch as the men with whom he most identifies certainly indicate that he'll be willing to take a risk in choosing his wardrobe for the event.
Want to meet the boys of One Man Dallas in person? Plan on attending the big event on May 19 at the Dallas Contemporary, 161 Glass Street, and follow updates for the competition online now.
