Oncor Launches Web Site to Track Energy Usage

Oncor has launched a Web site it says can help customers keep their electric bill under control.

Many North Texans have criticized the digital meters Oncor Electric Delivery is installing across the Metroplex, blaming them for big spikes in their power bills.

The utility says the Web portal can help customers understand when they use the most electricity. The Web site can break down usage by days and even by hours.

"If you can change some of the behavior, and you know when you are using electricity, then you can lower your electric bill," the company said in a statement. "You can also measure it by the week of by the month, so that you can predict what your electric bill will be before it arrives."

Customers with an older analog meter can go here to register for the service.

If you already have a smart meter, click here to register.

You can click on the New User Register button on the top right hand side of the page to Register.

It may take a few days for the site to update if you recently had a smart meter installed.
