The State of Texas will have a new set of requirements for students next school year.
Starting August 1, 2009, seventh graders will need the vaccine that protects against bacterial meningitis. In addition, they will need a booster for the vaccine against diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis.
For kindergartners, all children will need two doses of the chicken pox vaccine. Also, those students will need to be vaccinated against measles, mumps and rubella and hepatitis A.
