Kim Dawson, the modeling industry legend that put Dallas on the fashion map, died Thursday due to complications from Alzheimer's disease.
In the 47 years since she started her famed modeling agency in Dallas, Dawson launched the careers of Angie Harmon, Janine Turner, Jerry Hall, and Erin Wasson, just to name a few. Her business acumen also broke the stranglehold Neiman Marcus had on Dallas models, who could only work exclusively for the retail giant.
Alan Peppard's article over at the Dallas Morning News has more reactions from the Dallas fashion world. Simply put, she will be missed by all interested in Dallas fashion, including us.
Memorial service arrangements have not yet be finalized.
