MDA Stride & Ride 2010

Join NBC 5 at the MDA Stride and Ride 2010 on Saturday, January 30 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington benefiting the research efforts of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

This great event is for everyone. In its seventh year, the DFW Stride and Ride has become the largest Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Walk in the nation.

In 2009, the Metroplex MDA Stride and Ride generated more than $400,000.

You can participate by being a team captain. Ask your friends, family, co-workers and join your team of five (5) or more.  Each member of the walk team is asked to raise a minimum of $85, which will fund one minute of vital research for MDA.

The premise is simple – create a team, raise money for research, then celebrate your team’s success by walking a one-mile “victory lap” at Cowboys Stadium.  There’ll be great fun for everyone.

The University of Phoenix School Challenge brings a competitive element to Stride & Ride. The school challenge gives students a chance to participate in Stride & Ride and give back to the community while competing for prizes and, of course, school pride.  The University of Phoenix will award $500 and a plaque to the school raising the most money.  The second place school will receive a $300 cash award and a plaque.  A $200 cash award and a plaque will be offered for third place.

The MDA Stride and Ride is sponsored by NBC 5, Citgo, Self Opportunity, Womack Machine Supply, the big 96.3 KSCS, Majors Medical Services, United Rehab, GEICO, University of Phoenix and eduphoria!
