Mansfield Roadhouse Pits Police vs. Firefighters

Forces to face off in rib-eating contest

It’s police officer against firefighter this Saturday, June 4 in Mansfield, Texas.

The Texas Roadhouse restaurant there threw down a challenge the city's emergency personnel accepted. They’ll face-off in a contest to determine, which team of 10 can eat all the ribs placed before them before the other group can finish.

The eat-off takes place at the restaurant immediately after the community kids finish up their hot dog eating competition, which starts at noon, June 4.

It’s all part of Rib Fest and the restaurant will donate 10 percent of the day’s sales revenue to the charity of the winning team’s choice. Each member of the team also receives a free dinner, presumably on another night.

Since the Texas Roadhouse lists the Mansfield Police Officers Association as one of its supported charities the fix might be in.

The day’s activities also include face painting, ostensibly for the kids but hey, and exhibited police cars and fire trucks, probably those parked in the lot by the participants.

Y’all have fun now, ya hear? And wipe your face.
